Newcastle Basketball run competitions for Juniors and Seniors throughout the week. There is a competition to suit everyone of all ages and experience levels.

Below is the weekly competition timetable for 2012.

What To Play?

JUNIORS
Club Competition
The Club Competition is our major junior league that runs from March through to September. The competition consists of boys and girls divisions in U12, 14, 16 & 19's. All participants are required to join a Newcastle Basketball affiliated Club or an authorised School team.

Rookies (Under 8 & Under 10)
Our rookies program is a modified basketball competition for youngsters to help them prepare for the step up to our Club Competition. Each week players compete in actual basketball games along with undergoing skill sessions.

Rookies is held four times a year in parallel to each school term (9-10 weeks at a time). For more information click here.

Learn To Play
Learn to Play is our introductory skills program for all infants and primary school children who want to learn the fundamentals of basketball. This is the perfect place to start for children aged 5-12 that have had no previous expereince playing basketball.

Other Competitions
Throughout the year Newcastle Basketball run other junior tournaments including 3on3 and the T-1 League. These are separate to the Club Competition where players can nominate independently or form their own teams. Information about these tournaments will be posted as they start approaching.

SENIORS
Our next Senior Social competition commences from Tuesday, April 10. Click here to view a flyer with more information.

Three nights a week we run various Senior Social Competitions for Men, Women & Unisex. The majority of competitions consist of multiple divisions to accommodate teams of all skills levels. We run two seasons a year, typically from April-September and October-March.

Players can form their own teams and enter our Senior competitions. You can do this by completing the Team Nomination Form from the link below.  If you are re-entering a current team into a new competition and you haven't yet received any correspondence please contact Newcastle Basketball.

We can also assist individuals wanting to play basketball but can’t find a team to join. Email chris@newcastlebasketball.com.au and depending on availability we’ll do our best to place you in a team. 

Registration

All players looking to join any competition need to be registered with Newcastle Basketball before playing. Registration can be done at the Stadium front office and you will need to bring identification when registering. To assist in making your registration process easier and faster, please print and complete the Registration Form below and bring it in with you. Players are also required to sign the Risk Warning Statement when registering.

All registrations last 12 months from the date paid. During this time you are covered for all competitions played through Newcastle Basketball. 

If you wish to compete in a Newcastle Basketball competition while registered with another Association you must affiliate with us before you playing. Just print, complete and submit the Player Affiliation Form to the Newcastle Basketball Stadium front office.
