Acting in accordance with Australian environmental legislation and the changing local and international markets, this uniquely Australian approach by Horiso has resulted in a new Climate Ready™ categorization for projects that fit this criterion. To qualify for the Climate Ready green distinction, Horiso products have been:

  • Designed to fully utilise the environmental conditions of a building and its surroundings.
  • Manufactured with recycled materials to conserve natural resources.
  • Installed and operated by Dynamic Facade Control system to minimise energy consumption and maximise the use of solar energy.

The design criteria of a Horiso Climate Ready solution incorporates the following factors:

  • A building’s location including the geographical position, sun angles, other buildings and natural environment.
  • A building’s orientation and the glazed areas on different facades.
  • The need for robust products and systems due to the exposure of climatic conditions such as extreme weather.
  • The architectural requirements of the building.

The standards for manufacturing a Horiso Climate Ready solution include:

  • Conservation of energy and water during all processing.
  • Low impact to air quality from manufacturing procedures.
  • Reduction of waste material.
  • Use of recycled materials.
  • Recycling of product components.

The key to Horiso’s Climate Ready solution is the integration of its energy-efficient Dynamic Facade Control system. The system is a two motor controller designed specifically for the operation of motorized shades. It is compatible with all Horiso Roller, Venetian, and Louvre shading products. In addition to controlling two motors, each controller is capable of accepting six dry contact inputs. Programmable Layers allow for the addition of sensors and A/V system integration. The controller can operate stand-alone or networked using BACnet/MSTP over RS-485. Benefits include:
