Martin visited the Preston Girls Senior College to see the art exhibition that girls from across all grades are exhibiting. The display included works in painting, drawing, sculpture and needle point, including soft-toys.

Martin visited the Northern District sub-Branch of the National Servicemen's Associaton of Australia to present 16 of its members with Australian Defence Medals. Martin also joined the Northern District sub-Branch in its celebration for its 10th Anniversary.

Martin visited Arts Project Australia, which is a not-for-profit organisation that supports people with disabilities beome practitioners in the visual arts. Martin is pictured here while some of the artists paint and draw his portrait.

The Grade 5 students at Pender's Grove Primary School showed Martin their vegetable kitchen garden. The vegetable garden is tended by the whole school community and is watered with the indigenous garden by recycled water gathered from a Commonwelath Government Community Water Grant.

World Environment Day - June 5
East Preston Primary School
Martin helped local students celebrate World Environment Day and attended celebrations marking the event at East Preston Primary School. As part of the celebrations and in recognition of our culture and history, Martin presented the school with the Australian Aboriginal Flag to be flown on the school grounds. Martin is available to present Australian, Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags to all schools in the Batman area.

Latrobe Retirement Village - April 2007
Martin presented an Australian Flag to the residents at the Latrobe Retirement Village during a ceremony followed by afternoon tea. Flags can be obtained without charge from Martin's office. Martin is also available to present the Australian Flag as well as the Aboriginal Flag to community groups and schools.
