Local business leader appointed Chair of RDAC
Local business leader and Chairman of RDA Hunter, Gaye Hart AM, has been appointed Chairman of the New South Wales Regional Development Advisory Council (RDAC).
Ms Hart will Chair the RDAC meeting in Sydney this Thursday 14 October 2010 which will be attended by Federal Minister for Regional Development, the Honorary Simon Crean MP and NSW Minister for Regional Development, The Hon Eric Roozendaal MP.
The RDAC coordinates linkages to all NSW RDA committees and makes recommendations to the NSW Minister for Regional Development on all regional development issues. It also advises on ways in which the Government and communities can work together to strengthen the capacity of communities to respond to local business issues.
Gaye has served more than 20 years on not-for-profit, government and business boards. She is the former Director of Hunter TAFE NSW and was Chair of the Australian Council for International Development. She was also a member of the Foreign Minister’s Aid Advisory Council, where she made a significant contribution to Australia’s overseas aid program.
Gaye’s appointment as Chair of the RDAC will give the Hunter a strong voice on the future economic growth of our region.
