Hunter Advantage
Hunter Advantage is a NSW Government initiative with RDA Hunter to increase sustainable employment in the Hunter region, encouraging the establishment and relocation of business to one of the country’s thriving economies.
As a significant contributor to the state economy, the Hunter is emerging from an industrial, coal and wine-producing heritage to become a dynamic and diverse industrial base with rapidly growing service and commercial sectors. As growth continues in traditional manufacturing sectors, there is also expansion into new technologies including the use of composite materials, computer systems and aerospace engineering.
The Hunter Advantage Fund exists to stimulate investment that will generate new jobs in the local government areas of Cessnock, Dungog, Gloucester, Great Lakes, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Muswellbrook, Newcastle, Port Stephens, Singleton and the Upper Hunter.
Assistance provided to successful applicants is based on the number of new jobs created, and factors considered include capital investment, the project’s benefits to the region and its compatibility with strategic growth plans.
