A Vision for Energy & Resources in the Hunter

The Minister for Resources, Energy and Tourism, The Hon Martin Ferguson AM MP, has today addressed members of the Hunter business community, as keynote speaker at a Regional Development Australia (RDA) Hunter luncheon. The luncheon, titled A Vision for Energy & Resources in the Hunter, is the final in a three-part series hosted by RDA Hunter focusing on key Federal Government initiatives and their implications for the Hunter Region.

Other events in the series included Minister for Climate Change and Energy Efficiency, Greg Combet, who addressed members of the business community during a seminar titled Climate Change Policy and its Relevance to the Hunter.

While later in the month, The Hon Simon Crean, Minister for Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government delivered an address on ‘Opportunities the Carbon Pricing Mechanism will Unlock for the Hunter’ taking questions from the floor afterwards and encouraging discussion from the audience.

RDA Hunter CEO, Todd Williams, said the Leadership Series was a useful forum for local business and organisations to interact with members of the Government.

“This is been a fantastic opportunity to hear from not one, but three Ministers on issues that have broad implications for all Australia and especially the Hunter region,” Mr Williams said.
