School holiday activities

Our School Holiday Program is proudly supported by Hunter Water

Half day activities - something for everyone.

The Hunter Wetlands Centre Australia offers a range of school holiday activities including supervised programs, canoe adventures . Activities will accommodate the weather and most will go ahead rain, hail or shine - bring your raincoat and gumboots!

 

April School holidays

 

Monday:  Art Day: (7-12yrs)

Get out and about; learn to draw Birds and Animals.

Please be sure to wear closed in shoes & bring a hat, morning tea & a bottle of water.

9 am – 12.30 pm, Monday, April 16 Only due to Easter Holidays

$20 per Person

 

Tuesday:  Junior Adventure Day: (7-10yrs) -

Getting out amongst the great outdoors with a Photo sleuth, bird feeding and dip netting!

Please be sure to wear closed in shoes & bring a hat, morning tea & a bottle of water.

9 am – 12.30 pm, Tuesday, April 10, 17 -$20 per Person 

 

Photography Day: (8-14yrs)

Do your kids have an interest in Photography?  Encourage a new generation of wildlife photographers!

Must bring your own camera, don’t forget a clear memory card & spare batteries.  Please be sure to wear closed in shoes & bring a hat, morning tea, lunch & afternoon tea included.

8.30 am – 12:30 pm, Tuesday, April 10, 17- $20 per Person

 

Wednesday:  Beetles bugs and Butterflies: (4-7yrs) -

Getting out and about in the Wetlands, walk through our Bush tucker Garden, do some dip netting and crafts.

Please be sure to wear closed in shoes & bring a hat, morning tea & a bottle of water.

9 am – 12.30 pm, Wednesday, April 11, 18 - $20 per Person

 

Canoe Adventure: (12-14yrs) -

Come out and Experience the Amazing Ironbark Creek on a fully guided tour. 

Please be sure to wear closed in shoes & bring a hat, morning tea & a bottle of water.

9 am – 12.30 pm, Wednesday, April 11, 18 - $25 per Person

 

Thursday:  Wacky Wetland Tour: (4-8yrs) -

 Get wild and wacky and take a peek behind the scenes.  Learn more about wildlife on site, with hands on demonstrations with our wacky professor.  Please bring a hat, sunscreen, protective footwear, insect repellent, morning tea, lunch and a bottle of water. 

10.30 am – 12 Noon, Thursday, April 12, 19 - $10 per Person      

 

Bike Safari: (8-12yrs) -

Come out and explore the wetlands in a unique way.  Learn about bike maintenance and safety.

All participants must bring your own bike & a bike helmet.

Please be sure to wear closed in shoes & bring a hat, morning tea & a bottle of water.

9 am – 12.30 pm, Thursday, April 12, 19 - $25 per Person
