Brian Kennaugh - Authorised Representative

Brian Kennaugh joined Hunter Financial Planning on July 27th 2009 as CEO. Brian commenced his financial planning career in 1983 with Prudential and after various senior management roles in a number of industries is delighted to bring all that experience to HFP. Brian is also the current President of the Executive Committee of the Alumni for the University of Newcastle and is well known across the city's business community.

“It is a privilege to bring my grey hair experience to such a vibrant young team that are so enthusiastic about serving the people of the Hunter," says Brian. "This is a critical time in the Hunter’s history where people require honest, down-to-earth financial advice from people who genuinely care about them. At Hunter Financial Planning we understand the validity of the old adage – that ‘people don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care'.”

Director / Senior Adviser

Philip T Smith - Authorised Representative

Philip is a Financial Adviser with over ten years experience in the Financial Services industry dealing with a range of clients. Before joining Hunter Financial Planning, Philip was employed by JSA Financial Planning Group for five years. He was also employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) for a period of two years in the Taxation/Accounting Division.

He has completed the Diploma of Financial Planning, obtained his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle and is currently a member of the Million Dollar Round Table. Philip is an authorised representative of Matrix Planning Solutions Limited licensee.

Mitchell Donnelly

Authorised Representative

Mitch joined Hunter Financial in January 2009. Mitch has completed his Diploma of Financial Planning and obtained his Bachelor of Finance from the University of Newcastle. Mitch is continuing his studies and is currently working towards completing his Advanced Diploma of Financial Services.

Mitch's role includes providing advice to clients, working with the other advisers and assistant advisers to develop various strategies for clients and training the new assistant advisers.

Mitch is an authorised representative of Matrix Planning Solutions Limited licensee.

Michael Blyton

Financial Adviser

Michael joined Hunter Financial Planning in October 2009. Michael graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Business. Michael has continued his studies since joining Hunter Financial Planning, by completing a Diploma of Financial Services. Michael has recently become a registered Financial Planner and is now an Authorised Representative of Matrix Planning Solutions.

Michael enjoys travelling and snowboarding in his spare time and you may find him enjoying a game of golf on the weekend.

Michael's role includes supporting the Senior Advisers in providing holistic advice for our clients, assisting with training of new staff and attending client meetings.

Ruth Madden

Client Service Manager

Ruth spent 5 years employed at investment banks UBS and Citi Smith Barney where she was involved in wealth management and share trading. After deciding to embark on a sea-change she travelled north and joined the Hunter Financial Planning team in February 2009. She is currently working in the administration team as the client service manager. Outside of work, Ruth tries to spend as much time as she can enjoying the outdoors, taking her dog to the beach and is a fan of the Adelaide Crows.

 

 

 

 

Jane Power

Business Development Administrator

Jane Power has recently joined our team at Hunter Financial Planning as the Business Development Administrator.

Jane has worked as an Operations Manager within the Coles network and recently spent 3yrs with the University of Newcastle working in the Examination and Graduation Office.

Jane is looking forward to this new challenge at Hunter Financial Planning  and will enjoy working with our friendly team.

Outside of work Jane enjoys spending time with her family and travelling with friends.

 

 

 

Elizabeth Hemmings

Client Implementation Administrator

Liz is employed at Hunter Financial Planning as a Client Implementation Administrator. Liz began her administrative career with an Insurance Broker in Halifax, England after which she moved to New Zealand and worked as Branch Administrator for 4 years.

Liz decided to visit Australia on a working holiday with her husband in 2009. However after reaching Newcastle Liz was thrilled to be given the opportunity to join the team at Hunter Financial Planning and decided to cut short her holiday. Liz was drawn to this beautiful area and all it has to offer and decided to set down roots here.

Liz has enjoyed providing excellent client service with a fantastic team at Hunter Financial Planning for 15 months and looks forward to this continuing long into the future.

  

 

 

 

Renee Sandall

Client Implementation Administrator

Renee has been an employee of Hunter Financial Planning for the past 18months and is employed as a Client Implementation Administrator. Prior to this, Renee spent two years working in administration at a local accounting firm. Renee enjoys a challenge and loves that no two days in the office are the same.

Renee likes to travel and is currently planning her next big holiday to America with her partner Daniel.

Renee has thoroughly enjoyed her time with Hunter Financial Planning and is looking forward to working with a great team for many years to come.

 

 

 

 

Nadyne Smith

PA to the CEO and Client Service Manager

Nadyne Smith has recently joined our team at Hunter Financial Planning. She is married with two beautiful girls who love dancing and performing. Nadyne also loves to design and make jewellery in her spare time and entertain friends and family in their home.

Nadyne's last role was with the Graduation office, at the University of Newcastle, where they organised graduation for 5000 students both here and overseas. After 20 years of service at the University of Newcastle, Nadyne was looking for a new direction in her career. Nadyne has taken on the role as the Personal Assistant to the CEO, Mr Brian Kennaugh. Nadyne is very excited at the prospect of working with a very dynamic team at Hunter Financial Planning and looks forward to providing excellence in client support.
 

 

 

   

 

Brittney Hogg

Client Implementation Administrator

In May 2011 Brittney was appointed to Hunter Financial Planning's client service team after gaining some experience at a firm in close alliance with Hunter Financial Planning since May 2010. Britt is currently studying part time to complete her Certificate IV in Business Administration at Newcastle TAFE.

Britt fits in well with the team at Hunter Financial Planning with her warm and friendly personality.

Brittney also enjoys spending time with friends and loves weekends away.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sarah Powell

Client Implementation Administrator

Sarah graduated from Passmores' Business and Management College in 2006.

Sarah worked in hospitality and tourism for over 4 years before joining  the team at Hunter Financial Planning in May 2011, where she is looking forward to becoming a fully qualified Financial Adviser.

Sarah enjoys reading, art and spending time outdoors. Some of the adventures she has ticked off her list include sky diving in Queensland, canyoning and rock climbing in the Blue Mountains and parasailing and quad biking in Port Stephens.

Sarah has just recently bought a house as an investment property, which allows her to use her interior decorating and landscaping skills.
